I have been in the insurance business for over 21 years. After spending 11 years as a captive insurance agent, I had the opportunity to purchase a family-owned independent agency that had been in business for 33 years, now known as Smith Insurance, LLC. More recently, I was honored to purchase another family-owned insurance agency that has proudly served its community for 80 years, allowing me to continue its long-standing tradition of excellence in the Webb City area.

I grew up in the Nevada area on a farm and in a family-owned meat processing plant, and I continue to live a farming lifestyle that I truly love. Those roots taught me the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I have also been married to my wife, Peggy, for over 35 years. Together, we have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren—an experience that has reinforced the importance of commitment, loyalty, and dedication in all areas of life.

I am a Missouri native and have lived in the central and western parts of the state my entire life. I now live in Nevada, MO where I work out of the Nevada office. I am licensed in Missouri so it doesn’t matter where you live in Missouri I can help you. I understand how Missourians think and what they value most.

My experience in the insurance industry spans multiple roles. I began in customer service and spent time as a captive agent for a national carrier. Along with being an independent agent with Smith Insurance, LLC, I am also an independent claims adjuster. Therefore, I have the knowledge to know how coverages work if a claim occurs.

Outside of my career, I enjoy fishing, gardening, and traveling to spend time with friends and family. What I enjoy most about being an independent agent is the ability to truly help customers—whether that means being there during a major loss or claim, or helping them better understand their insurance coverage. Explaining what coverage they have and how it can protect them during stressful times is what makes this work meaningful to me.
